A CHISHAWASHA woman is at loggerheads with her elder sister who snatched her husband.

Muchaneta Zhou opened up at the Harare Civil Court where she applied for a protection order against her sister Vongai.

"In April, I gave birth to my third child and I had to go and stay with my parents for a couple of months leaving my husband behind with my sister.

"I spent four months at my parents' home because my baby was sick and when I came back, I noticed my husband had changed his attitude towards me.

"I then asked my sister if something was going on but she denied.

"A few days later, the two then disclosed their affair to me," said Muchaneta.

In response, Vongai confirmed bedding her sister's husband on several occasions when she was away.

"The least I could do was to help him to fulfil his needs like any other man.

"I played the role of his wife when my younger sister was not there so I don't think there is anything wrong with me helping him.

"Everyone is now calling me a husband snatcher and to maintain my dignity in the society I have to be his second wife.

"I am not going to vacate the house; it is also my matrimonial home," said Vongai.

Presiding Magistrate Noah Gwatidzo, who presided over the matter, granted the protection order in Muchaneta's favour.

The two were also advised to resolve their conflicts amicably for the sake of their relationship.
