The opposition Movement for Democratic Change has come out guns blazing against Profesor Lovemore Madhuku calling him a discredited commissioner who is not fit to be part of the Kgalema Motlanthe led Commission of Inquiry.
Speaking at a press statement today the Secretary General of the MDC Douglas Mwonzora said, "Immediately after the 1 August shootings Professor Madhuku was interviewed by ZBC and on camera he blamed the violence on the MDC. Madhuku is not a fair person. He has made conclusion already. How can a person who has already made his judgement and conclusion be made to investigate? What starts first are investigations, hearings then judgement."
Mwonzora also said Commissioner Charity Manyeruke is a compromised Commissioner as she is a ZANU PF cadre.
"Manyeruke is a card-carrying official of ZANU PF who featured in one or two ZANU PF election advertisement, She made remarks concerning the violence that happened. If a law be unjust, unfair responsible citizens have a duty to disobey it."
Mwonzora further said that the leadership of the MDC will only appear before the Commission of Inquiry if certain legal issues are looked into.
On Thursday The Kgalema Motlanthe led Commission of Inquiry into the 1 August killings has formally written to MDC leader Nelson Chamisa to give evidence before the commission of inquiry into the shootings which left six dead and 24 others nursing gunshot injuries.
