Government opens up on Korean cult leader

The minister of information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services has formal welcomed Korean cult leader to Zimbabwe and told critics that Zimbabwe respects freedom of worship.

"Freedom of worship is a universal right. Religion brings people together and promotes peace. Zimbabwe has been blessed to host many international religious conventions that opened the way to religious tourism. Government welcomes Dr Moon and her Peace Festival team.

"Over the years various mainline and Pentecostal churches have made significant headway in not only drawing international delegates to Zimbabwe, but spreading  messages of hope, faith and peace," The Ministry said.

The statement from the ministry comes amidst  reports that section of Christian community has organised an emergency demonstration again the  Billionaire Korean cult leader of Family Federation and World Peace and Unification (FFWPU) Hak Ja Han Moon who  arrived in the country on Monday.

Reports are that the pastors are seeking an urgent clearance letter form the Zimbabwe Republic Police so as to rally their members to show their displeasure about the presence of Hak ja han Moon in the country.

The demonstration is reportedly planned for Tuesday afternoon in Harare.

On Monday gospel musicians Michael Mahendere and Janet Manyowa pulled out of the list of entertainers who were supposed to sing at the event.
