Temba Mliswa warns Motlanthe commission witnesses

Norton Member of Parliament Temba Mliswa has warned witnesses attending the Kgalema Motlanthe commission of inquiry into the 1 Auggust killing to stick to facts and not use the commission to settle old scores.
Mliswa was commenting after two former ZANU PF members Jim kunaka and Paddington Japajapa used the witness stand on Wednesday to detail the history of violence committed by ZANU PF.
Said Mliswa, "Whilst I have not said much, I have been following the Commission of Inquiry and I believe that it is important for witnesses to stick to facts. They must not use the Commission as a means to settle old scores as one stands to lose credibility. There is life after the commission and some things which are being said are incriminating.
"Being under oath is not a thing to take lightly and forewarned is forearmed. The loss of life is a serious matter and questions must be answered. Let it not lose focus of its primary purpose."
Speaking before commission on Wednesday, Kunaka said, "I am shocked that as commissioners you are seating with Charity Manyeruke, she is actually one of the architects of violence in Zanu-PF, when I was provincial chairman of Zanu-PF we actually sat on the same table planning how to attack and beat up MDC supporters. She was my commander and she sent me on errands of violence, currently she is the secretary of the Zanu-PF womens league in Mashonaland East. Manyeruke is dirty. I do not want to answer any question from this woman."
Manyeruke responded by saying: "Chairman, mine is not a question. Let me set the record straight. I have never sat in any meeting with Jim Kunaka."
She did not respond when Kunaka threatened to spill more beans and produce more evidence against the commissioner.
Kunaka said during the 2008 general elections Zanu-PF youths met with members of the military at the Zanu-PF headquarters basement were they received instructions to defend the revolution after the late MDC president Morgan Tsvangirai had won the election against former President Robert Mugabe.
ZANU PF Youth League has since called for the arrest of Kunaka alleging that he has confessed after oath that he is a murderer so he must be brought to book and answer for his crimes.
