MDC-T Spokesperson Linda Masarira has sought police protection after allegedly receiving death threats upon her from unknown persons accusing her of telling the Motlanthe commission that MDC-Alliance sent some of its members for military training by Serbians in some southern African countries ahead of the July 30 harmonised elections.

Posting on her Twitter handle Masarira said, "After receiving several threats of assault and death I reported the case to Rhodesville police station. This  includes the threats from last week and some derogatory and demeaning insulting statements by some erstwhile comrades."

Linda also claimed that the same people threatening her we terrorising one of her informants.

"If my allegations are false why did you spend the whole night terrorizing one of my informants and asking her to issue a statement to counter what I said? Rina Manyanga hariputirwe."

Linda told the Motlanthe commission that MDC militants were trained by Serbians.

"It would be naive for anyone to think that the MDC Alliance do not have radical and militant youths who trained under the civil society banner which are stakeholders of the MDC Alliance,"she said.

"I can speak with confidence and evidence that there are two groups who were trained to lead protest though it is said that they were trained to uprise in a non-violent manner which is contrary to the actions that prevailed on August 1.

"The MDC Alliance believes the Government can be persuaded to a government of national unity or to accede to certain demands from the illegal demonstrations that they did coupled with the ongoing demonisation of Zimbabwe.
