+9 dead in head-on accident

Nine people have died in an accident involving a Greenfuel sugar cane truck and a commuter omnibus in Manzvire, about 10km from Checheche, Manicaland Province.

Police Spokesperson, Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi said police details are attending the scene and preliminary findings indicate that 9 people died on the spot.

Assistant Commissioner Nyathi said although the details are still sketchy, the kombi was carrying 17 passengers despite being authorised to carry 15.
