Mwonzora, Mudzuri forge alliance?

MDC Secretary General Douglas Mwonzora has allegedly forged an alliance with the embattled Vice President Elias Mudzuri in a bid to oust Nelson Chamisa from the Presidency during the elective congress penciled for 2019.
An MDC National Executive member close to the happening explained to us the plot.
"I can confirm that there has been an alliance that has been forged between the SG an the VP." The source said. "The SG is adamant that he is going to win the presidency away from the President so he has decided to rope in the Vice President so that they create a powerful force."
"The SG says he defeated Chamisa during the last elective congress and so he is using that popularity within party structures to build his hype towards the Presidency. Mudzuri knows his time is up so to secure his position he has decided to go with the Mwonzora people.
"Mudzuri brings a whole lot of MDC old guard who believe in the founding values of the party while Mwonzora seeks to capitalise on his charisma and we will see lots of that partnership soon as they start they campaign."
Mudzuri was booed off the stage on Thursday at an MDC rally.
Mwonzora recently said he would consider running for the presidency, if he is backed by the majority of its membership.
"I have not yet made up my mind regarding which position I am going to contest for at the congress. Having said that, I am aware as a lawyer myself of the rights that an MDC member has-and an MDC member has the right to vote, and to be voted for in any position. I do not wish to throw my rights away in that regard. Definitely, if I want to contest for something no one will stop me. I am aware of my rights as a member of the party which rights nobody can take away from me. It is the right to vote and to be voted for in an area that will be of my choosing," he said.
