Parents with children learning at Inyathi High school were shocked to learn that the school has resolved that parents must top up school fees for third term just two days before the third term ends.
A message sent to the parents read, The Assembly resolved that a top up fee of $50 for borders and $15 for day scholars must be paid towards offsetting the outstanding financial commitments for the school. This top up is payable immediately. The fees for 2019 will be reviewed through a parents meeting over the holiday."
A parent only identified as Sibanda who spoke to us was fuming saying the school was engaging in daylight robbery.
" This does not make sense at all. Where on earth have you ever seen school fees for a particular term increased three days before that term ends?" Sibanda asked." With the economic challenges that are in this country, where are we expected to just get the top up money immediately? I have three children who are learning at Inyathi and one is a border, instead of focusing of next year school fees, now I have a new headache of having to looking for $80 to pay for a term that has ended.
"I am going to attend the parents meeting over the holiday and will show my displeasure at the way the administration is treating us. If the school had outstanding commitment to offset why didn't they increase the term at the beginning and not the end."
