Panic as Mutsvangwa throws Matemadanda under the bus

The Zimbabwe National Liberation War Veterans Association has been thrown into a panic mode after it emerged that the announcement by Secretary General Victor Matemadanda to increase Presidential age limit originated from the embattled Chairman Christopher Mutsvangwa.
A member of War Veterans Association from Harare told us that the idea was smuggled by Mutsvangwa to the War Veterans discussions through one of his loyalists (name withheld).
"On Wednesday there was panic my brother after we as war vets tried to look at the origins of the presidential age announcement which has been received with countrywide condemnation." The Source said. "Then we discovered with ample proof that during the discussion one of Mutsvangwa's loyalists suggested the idea. And the reason for the suggestion we have discovered was not a good one."
"Mutsvangwa knew that Cde Matemadanda is the one who will read the resolutions so he knew that if the SG reads such an unpopular statement people are more likely to play the man than the ball. This has been proven to be true. The Youth League and other Zimbabweans are not condemning the Association for the proposal but they are condemning the person of the announcer to the extent that they are even questioning his liberation credentials."
When we asked why Mutsvangwa would want to do that, the source said, " All this is a congress power game. Mutsvangwa now knows that SG akasvipa therefore he cannot have too much courage to contest him for the Chairmanship and he now has to spend more time to clean himself and his name."
War Veterans leader Chris Mutsvangwa allegedly did not attend the meeting because he accompanied his wife Monica on govenement business in Mozambique.
"So, its tricky now the top leadership of the association is trying to find ways of managing this issue but to tell the truth Chris was more calculated on this one, he managed to throw the SG under the bus with a single blow. But let us wait and see how things will tell in the coming days as we get near the congress and the Conference of the party."
Recently Matemadanda said Mutsvangwa, should stop dragging his name into his fights to do with the fuel business.
Cde Matemadanda said he would not defend anyone on anything except President Mnangagwa.
His remarks come in the wake of claims byMutsvangwa, as quoted in some sections of the media over the weekend, that Matemadanda was gunning for Cde Mutsvangwa's position and was sponsoring provinces to recall him.
