Teachers under the banner of the Progressive Teachers Union of Zimbabwe have written a letter to President Emmerson Mnangagwa demanding an urgent meeting with him and discuss a number of issues relating to teachers and the teaching profession.
"Your Excellency we write as Progressive Teachers' Union of Zimbabwe to your esteemed office to request an urgent meeting with you to discuss issues that are affecting teachers in particular and civil servants in general." The letter said.
"You may remember that our Secretary General Raymond Majongwe did deliver to you in person on the occasion of the education Indaba on 18 July at celebrations centre, a letter with a dossier of challenges that we hoped government would urgently move in to address. Some of the challenges in that document include salaries, teachers with disability and negotiating forums."
