Mnangagwa signs 8 MOUs in Belarus

Zimbabwe and the Republic of Belarus have signed 8 memoranda of understanding in different spheres of development to promote economic ties between the two countries.
Of the 8 MOUs signed by the two countries in Minsk this Thursday, five of them are focusing on education with the Belarus Institute for Vocational Education, the Belarus National Technical University; and for science and technology development with the Belarus State Committee on Science and Technology and with the Belarusian State University.
The others are in the areas of agriculture, mining and machinery.
Addressing the ministers from both countries who witnessed the signing at the Independence Palace in Minsk President Alexander Lukashenko said Belarus is ready and willing to extend all the support that Zimbabwe requires to move forward, adding that implementation of the projects should start this year, urging the business sector to take part in the projects.
President Mnangagwa said it is the desire of the new government to fulfill the aspirations of the Zimbabwean people and give them hope of a better life.
The MOUs were signed by Minister of Lands, Agriculture, Water, Climate and Rural Resettlement Retired Air Chief Marshal Perrance Shiri for the Zimbabwean side and the different ministers responsible for the Belarus government.
President Mnangagwa's current visit to Belarus comes after four years following his last meeting with President Lukashenko when he was still Vice President.
