MDC-T rocked by squabbles

MDC-T national spokesperson Douglas Mwonzora has described the recent suspension of five party provincial leaders from Manicaland as null and void, as intra-party clashes continue to haunt the province.
The five who include Mutasa North MP David Chimhini, Mutasa North district chairperson Adam Muponda, Buhera South district chairperson Aaron Gandanga, Makoni West district chairperson Tendai Pfachi and Mutasa Central organising secretary Rose Mukodza were suspended by the party's provincial secretary Misheck Kagurabadza over allegations of indiscipline.
"The suspensions are null and void because the only person who is authorised to do that is the organising secretary (Nelson Chamisa)," said Mwonzora.
Honourable Chamisa and his committee will be dealing with the matter on Monday (today) at a special meeting.
The officials were suspended last month for violating the party's code of conduct.
Some of the suspended members were reprimanded by the party's national secretary-general Tendai Biti last year over allegations of trying to topple the provincial executive.
According to the suspension order, the officials are barred from entering party buildings or conducting any party business until finalisation of the matter.
