Zera puts on hold ZPC bid

Zimbabwe Power Company's (ZPC) bid to add more electricity to the national grid has suffered a setback after regulatory authorities put a hold on its request for a licence extension until it addresses objections raised by the Bulawayo City Council (BCC) and residents.
ZPC has applied to the Zimbabwe Regulatory Authority (Zera) - seeking permission to extend its licence by 20 years - in a move that would have paved way for addition of 120 megawatts to national grid.
