Three opposition political parties, Thokozani Khupe's MDC-T, Trust Chihora's Coalition of Democrats and Lucia Matibenga's People's Development Party have called on the government, civil society and all political parties to converge for national dialogue.

The parties, which announced themselves as the 'progressive development parties' said national dialogue is meant for discussing the roadmap for getting Zimbabwe out of its current crisis.

The call for dialogue without any conditionalities comes at a time the MDC Alliance has remained in election mode and refusing to accept the election results and calling for dialogue with conditions that President Emmerson Mnangagwa's legitimacy be deliberated first.

The government has maintained that any negotiations can only ensue if the MDC Alliance acknowledges that President Emmerson Mnangagwa is the legitimate and duly elected President of the Republic of Zimbabwe.
