PROPERTY worth more than $500 000 was on Tuesday evening destroyed in a fire that razed a business complex in the Belmont industrial area in Bulawayo.
Bulawayo chief fire officer, Richard Peterson told the Southern Eye that firefighters received a distress call at 8:33pm.
"I can confirm the incident (fire breakout). We received a call at 2033 hours on Tuesday and dispatched our water tankers together with the firefighters from our station in Famona. We ended up summoning a team from North End to complement those on the ground," Peterson said.
"By the time they got to the complex, the entire shed and the roof had already collapsed, with six cars engulfed by the blaze."
Peterson said the cause of the fire was yet to be established.
