Dhulivadzimu residents in Beitbridge were left counting losses after heavy overnight rains flooded some sections of the township, leaving many trying to salvage soaked belongings.

Floods swept across the township centre as water gushed into people's homes.

In the process, residents lost foodstuffs while household items were soaked and some properties destroyed.

It is not a beautiful moment for the residents who are ever asking themselves if they are living under a curse.

While they are still counting losses and trying to salvage the little of their belongings from the muddy rain-soaked houses, the residents live in fear of even the next rains.

Almost every time, when it rains heavily, they count losses after flash floods sweep through the border town.
