Deputy Minister of Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services Energy Mutodi is tipped to take over the position of ZANU PF Secretary for Youth League in the Politiburo replacing the 56 year old Pupurai Togarepi who was given a Vote of No Confidence of Wednesday.
A source within the Youth League Midlands province said at least four provinces on Wednesday touted the name of Mutodi as the ideal person to take over the post.
The four provinces are reported to be Midlands, Mashonaland Central, Mashonaland West and Mashonaland East.
However, the source said it is the preserve of the President to appoint Politiburo members the League may only recommend to the President.
The source further revealed that Mutodi's name was touted because he is seen as a radical person with the kind of energy needed in the youth league and has been at the forefront in defending party policies and the President even on hostile turfs such as the social media.
On Wednesday the Youth League passed a vote of no confidence on Togarepi, Secretary for Youth affairs Lewis Matutu, Secretary for Administration Tendai Chirau and two others members of the National Executive Council.
