Presidential Advisor on Disability Dr Joshua Malinga has held a meeting with members of the business community to encourage them to partner in the 2019 Edition of the Disability Expo.

In a statement released on Thursday, Dr. Malinga said, "I held a meeting with members of the Corporate World as well as Non-Governmental Organisations encouraging them to partner and participate in this year's annual Disability Expo, which will be held from the 26th to the 28th of June 2019."

The meeting was attended b Members of Parliament and NGOs representing the disabled persons.

"The meeting was also graced by Senator Rejoice Timire who is one of the Senators that represent People living with Disabilities in Parliament.

"Also in attendance was Godfrey Majonga (Danhiko Vice Chancellor), Mrs Zulu (Unesco Representative), Mrs Tafadzwa (UNDP Disability expert), Mr Gift Mabhaudhi and Mr Shepard Murahwi (FORDPZ Director)."

Malinga emphasized the need for the whole nation to join hands towards recognising the constitutional rights of persons living with disability as enshrined in Section 22 of the Constitution.

"I emphasised the need to stop approaching disability from a charity approach. The approach should be to empower Disabled people to be self-sustaining. Disability should be a concern for all, as all humans are susceptible to disability.

"For the Disabled to achieve their full potential and to minimise the disadvantages suffered by them as enshrined in Section 22 of the Constitution takes me, you and all of us to hold hands and march forward in unity."
