Fake news rocks Zimbabwe military

Zimbabwe National Army has disowned reports circulating that they would conduct home searches for stolen army uniforms.
ZNA spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Alphios Makotore yesterday said ZNA had never issued a statement to that effect.
"That statement which is circulating is not authentic; it's a false statement. Anything which comes from the ZNA has a signature to show that it came from us but that statement doesn't have one," he said.
Lt Col Makotore warned the people circulating the fake statement saying they were misleading the public.
"Whoever circulated that fake statement about the ZNA searching stolen uniforms in residential areas is going to be charged because that's a big crime and having an army uniform is a crime as well," he said.
