An African Development Bank (AfDB) team will next month visit Zimbabwe for talks with the government over debt clearance systems and possibilities of further private sector loans.
This was confirmed to the ZBC News, in a statement, by the Minister of Finance and Economic Development Professor Mthuli Ncube over the weekend.
Zimbabwe should use the meeting to finalise a favourable repayment strategy, said an economist Mr John Robertson.
"It is a well known fact that Zimbabwe owes the AfDB loans but we are saying they should sit down and talk to get the real focus and way forward," he said.
A local businessman Mr Alouis Kadonzvo said the private sector expects loans from the AfDB at concessionary rates.
"Only affordable loans can bring ourselves out of the current mess so we are just appealing for that," he said.
According to the AfDB, Zimbabwe's economy will this year grow by at least 3.1 percent.
