Mugabe commended for uplifting women to higher positions in government.

President Robert Mugabe has been commended for his commitment to empower women by uplifting them to higher positions in government. These commendations came from women leaders who attended a party in Norton to celebrate the appointment of Cde Monica Mutsvangwa to be Deputy Minister of Labour and Social Welfare. Senate President Edna Madzongwe and Zanu-PF Politburo member, Oppah Muchinguri who were guests at the Mutsvangwas' party in Norton said Mugabe has shown total commitment in uplifting the status of women as evidenced by his appointment of Mutsvangwa as the Deputy Minister of Labour and Social Welfare. Mutsvangwa promised the nation that she will deliver and will continue to be driven by the same liberation spirit that has shaped her personality. Husband to the Deputy Minister, Ambassador Chris Mutsvangwa described his wife as a hard working person with the love and respect for people at heart. The party was punctuated with music and dance by various groups.
