Mnangagwa deports top Trade Unionist to Ghana

President Emmerson Mnangagwa's government has reportedly detained International Trade Union Confederation (ITUC)-Africa Secretary General Kwasi Adu Amankwa who was in the country for an international solidarity meeting with the ZCTU. Amankwa was also scheduled to meet the Ministry of Labour, the International Labour Organisation and the Employers Confederation of Zimbabwe for an appreciation of the trade union and country obtaining situations.
Amankwa arrived in the country on Tuesday morning and checked into a local hotel, was allegedly tracked down by government officials and taken back to the airport where he is currently held.
He was part of a 3-member ITUC fact finding delegation. Government officials are said to have come to his hotel at 2am and took him away.
The legal adviser of ZCTU reported that Kwasi is being taken to the airport as immigration said he's being deported.
