ZANU PF MP sets up night school in Bulawayo

ZANU PF Member of Parliament for Bulawayo South Raj has announced that he is launching a night school in his constituency for 150 students.
"I am thinking of setting up a night school for people of Bulawayo South Constituency. Lessons will be for free. About 150 students will do. To avoid problems registration will be first come first serve." Modi announced on Wednesday.
Modi recently teamed up with Nkulumane Member of Parliament Kucaca Ivumile Phulu and United Refineries to donate groceries to families in both constituencies.
The initiative was done to coushin the residents after violent protestors destroyed shop in the areas.
Night Schools or Non-Formal Education (NFE) as it is known was introduced by government after Independence to provide a second chance education pathway for various categories of learners such as young people and adults who had never attended school or had dropped out of school due to a multitude of reasons.
The Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education then introduced and put into gear the National Non-Formal Education Policy (NFE) in 2015, which seeks to promote provision of high quality, relevant and inclusive Non-Formal Education, increase access to education through the Non-Formal Education route, and provision of functional skills to adult learners, youths and out-of-school children.
The policy caters for those who might not have attended school, those who dropped out and also those who did not make the most of the educational opportunities availed to them.
