Bosso players warn executive

HIGHLANDERS players have urged the club's executive to prioritise their welfare for them to achieve better in the forthcoming season.

There are reports of a possible industrial action at Barbourfields over unpaid wages.

Senior players who spoke to H-Metro on condition of anonymity  said the situation can be managed if their management addresses their concerns timeously.

They have equated their situation to that of CAPS United who have, however, settled their standoff with players.

Bosso have been on and off in their pre-season campaign owing to unpaid salaries.

Sources at Emagumeni said the players were promised to have their issues ironed out after a sponsorship deal with NetOne is finalised.

"If CAPS (executive) managed to pay their salaries without the NetOne deal, Highlanders can also do the same and they can do it better.

"We are far much better than CAPS, We have better management. On the pitch also we are better than them and the log proves that.

"We deserve better than what CAPS players are getting," said one player.

"For goodness' sake, we finished on a better position than them (CAPS) and we should be given more priority.

"If Jere (CAPS president) is prioritising his team, our president should do the same as well. There is no way CAPS can be smarter than us, it's just our management that is not taking the issue seriously.

"As soon as they realise that this is a pressing issue they will act on it and only until then we will start training," added another player.

"If we don't get our salaries we will keep on going like this, we will be reporting for work but we won't be training.

"What I am confident about is the fact that our team can pay us, they have other means.

"The team has been there before NetOne and I am sure we can still find a way of solving this issue," said another player.

This is the second time Bosso players have refused to train over unpaid salaries.

"We are now desperate and I am sure 'vari kuitirawo plan' because vaiti kweretesa vacho tine zvikwereti zvavo.

"Judging from the way they were trying to plead with us yesterday I am sure they will come up with something concrete soon.

"We have to hard on them so that they see how serious we are, we really need our money," said another player.
