ZANU PF wins Bulawayo Council seat

ZANU PF candidate Kidwell Mujuru has won the Ward 28 council seat in Bulawayo. The seat became vacant after the death of the previous Councilor who was slain.
ZANU PF had invested in a high-level campaign which saw the Vice President of the party Retired Colonel Kembo Mohadi descending to the ward and campaigning for Mujuru.
Mujuru is a businessman who has been contesting elections for many years without winning. The official candidate of MDC Alliance Collet Ndlovu came a distant third.
The following are the results of the by-election:
MDC Alliance: Nomagugu Mloyi 1229 votes
Zanu PF: Kidwel Muhuru 1889 votes
MDC Alliance: Collet Ndlovu 221votes
