Norton Member of parliament Temba Mliswa has challenged ZANU PF to issue a statement regarding allegations that Vice President Kembo Mohadi wanted to kill his ex-wife Tambudzani Mohadi with an axe last month.

Said Mliswa, "Following the VP(Kembo) Mohadi's fiasco there is a need for a ZANU PF statement for their cadre's behaviour and at least an apology from VP Mohadi himself."

Mliswa said if the party does not issue the statement the incident will work against them in the next elections.

"Absence of such, come 2023, it will work against the party for exhibiting and supporting patriarchal and primitive tendencies.

"The Women's Parliamentary caucus also needs to come out against the VP and defend one of their own otherwise all future noise on women's rights will be contrived activism," Mliswa added.

In March it was reported that Mohadi broke down three doors, threatened to shoot his ex-wife and grabbed three vehicles she was recently awarded in a divorce settlement while police watched.

He committed the act when he stormed a house he once shared with Tambudzani Muleya on Impala Drive in Beitbridge, with 25 police officers in tow.

Mohadi is alleged to have "poked" his ex-wife with a steel bar and threatened to kill her.
