Zimbabweans have made an outcry after a Kadoma magistrate Takudzwa Gwazemba on Monday sentenced ZANU PF thug Litten Chikore, to eight months in jail for attempted murder, but the whole sentence was conditionally suspended.
He was told to175 hours of community service at Kadoma General Hospital.
Journalist Zenzele Ndebele showed his displeasure at the unjust sentence by comparing Chikore's to a Bulawayo man who was sentenced for stealing a plough.
"A man steals a plough valued at $250 he gets 5yrs in jail. Chikore is charged with attempted murder, he is not a first offender and he gets community service."
Another resident Nduna said, "Names carry weight, which household you come from counts too. The scales didn't balance well for the poor fella."
Speaking from his base in South Africa Political Analyst Fortune Mlalazi said, "This judgement is a laughing stock to the justice system of our country. It shows clearly that we have a captured judiciary that bends down to the dictates of ZANU PF.
"When Mnangagwa took over Zimbabweans thought we were going to see a departure from a ZANU PF capturing state institutions. Now we see worse than what used to happen under Mugabeism. Zimbabweans and legal practitioners must condemn the continued of capturing of the state institutions by the party."
