Zimbabwe's inflation spikes to 66.8%

Zimbabwe's annual inflation rate for March rose 7.27 percentage points to 66.8 percent according to Zimbabwe National Statistics Agency (Zimstat).
 
The month on month inflation rate in March was 4.38 percent increasing by 2.71 percentage points on the February rate of 1.67 percent.

The IMF forecasts Zimbabwe's inflation to remain in double digits till the end of the year at +40%. This is against initial forecasts from the Ministry of Finance, which are targeting a drop to a single digit by October.
