A nurse stationed at Parirenyatwa Hospital has appeared in court as she stands accused of snatching a married man before wishing the death of his wife. Petty Chanetsa (31) of House No. 1023 Budiriro 5 was hauled before Mbare magistrates' court facing allegations of criminal nuisance.
She denied the allegations when she appeared before magistrate Precious Muzondo who remanded her out of custody on US$20 bail to 8 June for ruling. She indicated that at the time the offence came to light, she was no longer dating the man. The State alleges that Petty threatened Namatai Mashamba (45) over the phone warning her that her husband does not belong to her (Namatai) alone, instead they share. However, Namatai in ire, dragged Petty to court over the threats.
Allegations are that on 22 December, and at House No. 3099 14th Crescent in Glen Views 1, Namatai was at her place of residence when Petty phoned. It is alleged that Petty was boasting that Namatai should know that her husband was not only for herself but they shared. The State further alleges that she went on to tell Namatai that her husband belongs to her only when they are together and ceases to be hers once he leaves her.
State counsel Lawrence Gangarahwe further alleges that Petty even wished Namatai to die so that she could live freely with her husband and share quality time without any disturbances. In ire Namatai did not waste time before she reported the matter to the police leading to the nurse-cum-husband snatcher's arrest.
