President Emmerson Mnangagwa's decision to sanction the exhumation and reburial of Gukurahundi Genocide victims is an attempt to tamper with incriminating evidence South African based political analyst Fortune Mlalazi has said.
In an interview with Bulawayo24 Mlalazi opined that, "President Mnangagwa is a cunning snake who has beguiled some sections of Matabeleland by offering them a morsel of silver in a bid to cleanse his soul.
"The so-called exhumations are being sanctioned so that there is tampering of genocide evidence. It is an open secret that Mnangagwa was part of the Gukurahundi Committee after brazenly lying about the ZIPRA arms cache and telling Dabengwa to join ZANU if he wants to be released from prison."
Mlalazi added that the Mnangagwa led exhumations are supposed to be stopped.
"We can never have a criminal sanctioning a criminal investigation. Mnangagwa's hands drip raw and fresh Zimbabwean blood from the genocide. This exhumation process must be stopped until we have a clear working formula that will see the cold blooded murderers and their inciters being incarcerated."
Mlalazi revealed that he is considering taking legal action to bar the National Peace and Reconciliation Commission from presiding over exhumations until there is a clause that empowers police to track down criminals who killed the innocent citizens.
