Bulawayo fuel queues resurface

LONG winding fuel queues have resurfaced in Bulawayo leaving commuters in some suburbs stranded, the Daily News on Sunday reported.
Shortages of the precious liquid have emerged barely a week after the city hosted the Zimbabwe International Trade Fair (ZITF), which saw government going out of its way to ensure that service stations had enough fuel stocks for the five-day trade showcase.
During ZITF, fuel supply drastically improved after government paid for over 20 million litres of fuel to alleviate shortages during the period.
A survey conducted by this publication recently revealed that most service stations in the city centre were without the precious liquid.
Only service stations that charge fuel in United States dollars such as Flo had both diesel and petrol.
Despite the availability of the commodity, no queues were witnessed at these service stations as most people cannot afford to purchase fuel in foreign currency.
