A group of self-proclaimed members of the Central Intelligence Organisation attempted to grab Chief Nhlanhlayamangwe Ndiiweni's car at the Bulawayo Central Business District on Wednesday.

Nhlanhla Ndiweni has since labelled an enemy of the people by the Emmerson Mnangagwa led government.

This was after he sensationally called for the international community to escalate sanctions on the President Emmerson Mnangagwa-led government, claiming it has failed to pursue democracy.

In a statement on Sunday, Information ministry permanent secretary Nick Mangwana said: "Chief Ndiweni's sentiments are deplorable, parochial and ignorant coming from a traditional leader."

An eye witness who spoke to this publication said the men approached the Chief and told him they have sent by the Shef to  come and collect the vehicle.

Chief Ndiweni then complied and said they can take the car but he wants to collect his belongings first. He then entered into the car and collected his  things then took out a container with fuel and poured it all over the car.
Everyone fled from the vicinity then he entered into his car and sped off. The men who were driving a ZANU PF branded car and another white 4x4 chased after the Chief.

His whereabouts were not known at the time of writing and his cellphone number was not going through.
