Villager slapped to death

A BUHERA man died on the spot after being slapped once by a fellow villager following an altercation over dating a married woman. The incident, which shocked many, happened on Monday in Chief Makumbe's area.
The murder suspect, Takesure Urayayi (33), handed himself to the police soon after realising that he had killed Luke Taonezvi (33). Police confirmed the incident which left scores of villagers in the district shell shocked.
Manicaland provincial police spokesperson, Inspector Tavhiringwa Kakohwa said they were still waiting for post mortem results to ascertain the real cause of Taonezvi's death.
"Urayai, who was in the company of his friend, Moses Kwarimba, was heading home from Murambinda Growth Point at around 6:30pm. He met the deceased Taonezvi who was also in the company of his friend, Joseph Kuwanda. The deceased then approached Urayayi and warned him against bedding a married woman.
"Urayayi was infuriated by the confrontation and this prompted him to slap Taonezvi once. The victim collapsed and died on the spot. Urayayi handed himself over to the police after realising that he had committed murder," said Insp Kakohwa..
