CIO agent bounces back in court

A 41-YEAR-OLD Marondera Central Intelligence Organisation (CIO) agent is back again at Guruve magistrates' courts for contempt of court after being convicted of the same charge last year.
William Wachenuks of plot number 7,Disi Farm , was not asked to plead to contempt of court and malicious damage of property charges against his neighbour by magistrate Shingirai Mutiro who remanded the matter to 30 May for trial.
The state alleges on 16 July 2009 Wachenuka was ordered by the High Court not to interfere with John Strong farm's operations in his farm (plot 7) under order number HC116/09.
On 5 April he took his workers Stephen Hare disconnected six poly pipes which drew water from the dam to John Strong farm, the dam is located in Wachenuka's farm.
They dumped the pipes out of his farm about one kilometre away, by doing so Wachenuka breached the High Court order.
On 28 March at around 9am Wachenuka instructed Hare and Last Akimu to dig up the main line water pipes of John Strong farm, Mvurwi, the pipes draw water from the dam through the accused's farm to the complainant's farm.
The duo Hare and Akimu complied to Wachenuka's instruction and left the pipes exposed so that they can hydrants for irrigation purposes.
Wachenuka told Lancerote Kazingizi a security guard at John Strong that he had damaged the main pipe line for them not to access water for irrigation.
On 9 April the complainant made a tour of his water pipe line and discovered that his main line pipes were damaged on two different points, there were two big holed on each pipe.
The value of the damaged property is US$1000.Albert Mzhindu represented the state.
Meanwhile, Wachenuka has been convicted of contempt of court in November last year by Guruve magistrate Artwel Sanyatwi after deferring a high Court order which barred him from taking position of an irrigation pump from John Strong.
He pleaded for a non-custodial sentence saying he had nine wives and several children that needed his support.
