Vice President John Landa Nkomo says no amount of sanctions will break Zimbabwean people's willpower and determination to take control of their economic destiny.

Confirming that the anti-sanctions campaign will be officially launched next Wednesday on the 2nd of March, Vice President Nkomo said the recent EU decision to renew illegal sanctions imposed on Zimbabwe will not deter the resolutions of the Mutare Congress held last year.

He noted that sanctions have destroyed the country's economy while also trying to destroy Zimbabwean people psychologically.

"President Mugabe will officially launch the anti-sanctions petition which seeks to draw support from all Zimbabweans regardless of political affiliation. This because the destruction caused [by the illegal sanctions] has wrecked havoc indiscriminately," said Cde Nkomo, who is also the Ad hoc Chairman of the Anti-sanctions Committee.

The EU's decision to extend the illegal sanctions for another year has been criticised by political analysts who say the issue is bilateral as it is between Britain and Zimbabwe.
