America snubs Mnangagwa

American government are reported to have snubbed efforts by President Emmerson Mnangagwa's lobbyists to bring Cabinet ministers to a US-Africa Summit currently underway in Maputo, Mozambique.
Reports from ZANU PF headquarters indicate that Mnangagwa' government wanted to take the opportunity to initiate direct conversation with the World Super power so that they can understand firsthand the situation in Zimbabwe.
Earlier during the day ZANU PF members were spreading reports on social media that there is a hgfh level meeting being organised between US officials and the ZANU PF strongman.
One A Maimba said, "A high-level meeting between Zimbabwe sand USA is scheduled to take place in the sidelines of the USA-Africa meeting in Maputo, presenting a huge opportunity in our re-engagement efforts."
However seasoned American journalist Jeffrey Smith said, There was never a high-level meeting planned between the US Government and officials from Zimbabwe. In fact, no cabinet-level official from the U.S. is even attending the U.S.-Africa Business Summit."
Corporate Council on Africa and the Government of Mozambique are hosting the 12th U.S.-Africa Business Summit which is running from the 18 - 21, 2019 in Maputo, Mozambique.
The Summit brings together more than 1,000 U.S. and African private sector executives, international investors, senior government officials and multilateral stakeholders.
