Two dead bodies found in Lake Kariba

The Zimbabwe Republic Police details stationed in Kariba have anounced that they have retrieved bodies of two male adults aged 39 and 19 years, who went missing in Gatche Gatche Tsuwa area on 14th June 2019 around 0200 hours.
The police reported that the two bodies were retrieved from the lake floor near the area where they went missing on 15th and 16th June 2019 and there is no suspicion of foul play.
In a related incident five men have been arrested in connection with a case of theft of copper cables which occurred at Lake Chivero on 16th June 2019 around 1600 hours.
The accused are David Mafambirangaru (33), Elliot Maulana (27), Reason Baisa (21), Munyaradzi Gomedi (27) and Godknows (23).
The police allege that the accused persons dug out 70 metres of copper cables valued at RTGS$5 000.00, which were connected to the water pump in the lake, and it was recovered hidden in the bush.
ZRP has warned members of the public not to tamper with valuable infrastructure which affects the livelihood of industry, hospital, schools and other important economic activities.
