Three cattle rustlers jailed

Three cattle rustlers were slapped with a nine year jail term each by a Kwekwe magistrate yesterday after stealing two heifers. The convicts shot and skinned them in the bush.
The trio, Tawanda Talent Hora of Mbizo,Kwekwe, Godhelp Tatenda Mafuratideze Svosve of Mbizo, Kwekwe and Innocent Limbani of Hove village,Chief Chireya, Gokwe were sentenced to an effective nine year jail term each by magistrate Vimbai Mutukwa.
Public prosecutor Freddy Ndoro told the court that on 12 June the trio hatched a plan and worked in common purpose to steal the two beasts from Tavagwisa Chinyati, the two heifers were grazing in the bush where the trio used a rope to drag them to a secluded place.
After dragging the heifers Limbani pulled a gun and shot them , they slaughtered them and took the meat away leaving the hides on the crime scene.
Chinyati then filed a police report after missing his beasts and investigations proved that the convicts were behind the stock theft case.
