Man jailed for stealing donkeys

A 34-YEAR-OLD Bindura thief was jailed for 4 years by a Bindura magistrate yesterday after stealing two donkeys valued at RTGS$ 600.
Wilson Tavengwa of Chada village under Chief Musana in Bindura will serve 3 years behind bars after magistrate Ethel Chichera suspended one year on condition of good behaviour.
Public prosecutor Tariro Janhi told the court that sometime in May Tavengwa drove away two donkeys from the grazing pastures at Chada village to his homestead for his personal use, the donkeys belong to Obvious Chinyani.
Chinyani subsequently identified his stolen livestock at the convict's place of residence and filed a police report leading to his arrest.
In another case a Mvurwi man was convicted after breaking into a commercial sex worker's room hours after hiring her services for a short time session.
Gift Zulu appeared before Guruve resident magistrate Shingirai Mutiro convicted him on his own plea of guilty to unlawful entry and theft before remanding him in custody to Thursday for sentencing.
Representing the state Carson Kundiona told the court that on 5 June at house number 127 ward one, Suwoguru , Township,Mvurwi, Zulu hired the services of Janet Manhango at Dendere night club and went to her house for a short time service.
The convict paid $20 for the short time and returned together to the bar, after making sure that Manhango was soliciting for more clients in the bar, Zulu sneaked back at her house.
He broke in the house and stole the cash he had paid $20 and two cell phones before going away unnoticed.
