Three Harare men jailed for stealing 15 goats

Three Harare men were arrested after high speed chase with the police and caught with 15 goats stolen from five different pens in Mudzi; the goats were loaded in their vehicle valued during mid-night.
The matter came to light at Mutoko magistrates' court where the trio Givemore Reka (30), Tafadzwa Sande (30) and Wise Shuva (30) were sentenced to 30 months imprisonment by magistrate Takunda Witness Mtetwa.
The trio will serve 25 months in prison after Mtetwa suspended 5 months on condition of good behaviour.
Prosecutor Nathan Majuru told the court that on June 15 around 12 am the trio went on a stealing spree and stole 15 goats from five different pens and loaded them in their Mazda familia vehicle registration number AAP 8127.
All the five complainants filed a police report and the police acted with haste to their reports as they located the culprits and chased after them before firing warning shots in apprehending them.
The stolen goats were recovered and were valued at ZWL$700, the vehicle was also taken to Kotwa police post as exhibit.
