WATCH: 'Mnangagwa issues Gukurahundi-like threat to businesses'
02 Jul 2019 at 09:28hrs | Views
A video of President Emmerson Mnangagwa threatening to beat up businesspeople with a sjambok if they continue increasing prices of commodities.
Addressing a gathering President Mnangagwa urged citizens to buy from shops with cheaper prices. He added that those businesses that were sabotaging the country should wait for their time to be dealt with because the sjambok is being warmed in water.
Commenting on the matter Professor Jonathan Moyo, "The cruelty that is inherent to this ominous threat is inimical to the rule of law and to the social democracy that Mnangagwa has repeatedly claimed to the world defines his so-called new dispensation and reform agenda. The gukurahundi-like threat is unpresidential and unlawful."
