Norton Member of Parliament Temba Mliswa has condemned the rumours making rounds that Vice President Constantino Chiwenga has passed on.
Mliswa was commenting after a letter purportedly written by the Clerk of Parliament Kennedy Chokuda announcing Chiwenga's death went viral on social media.
"This is really shameful and unacceptable. We have to be a people of Ubuntu and be respectable, this clearly doesn't encompass that." Mliswa said. "I take this opportunity to wish the General well, he fought for this country and we are fully behind him."
Some of the words contained in the letter are: Those of us who worked with the honourable Vice President respected and admired his skill that liberated Zimbabwe again on November 20th 2018.
His name will always be remembered in the annals of our history.
Chiwenga is reported to be holed up in South Africa where his health is deteriorating. An online publication ZimLive said the General was now unrecognisable.
Harare has not issued any statement regarding the current health status of the Vice President feeding to speculations that he might be is a serious condition.
