The Zimbabwe Revenue Authority (ZIMRA) has plunged into turmoil after the introduction of new monetary and fiscal measures created compliance headache.
Speaking at the Institute of Chartered Accounts of Zimbabwe meeting on implications of currency reforms held in the capital yesterday, ZIMRA commissioner for domestic taxes, Rameck Masaire said the new policies were causing discord in business because the tax legislation has not been amended.
Some of the issues causing a bone of contention include how to deal with the calculations of capital gains, VAT, carbon tax for people, crossing borders, tax refunds, prescribed assets denominated in US dollars and how to deal with other various issues relating to compliance.
