The Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission has invited members ZANU PF Youth League to present to them information regarding the alleged corrupt individuals in government and ZANU PF.
In a press briefing on Thursday the newly appointed Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission chair, Justice Loice Matanda-Moyo said it's unnecessary for President Emmerson Mnangagwa to appoint a Commission of Inquiry to look into allegations of corruption made by the youths against top party and government officials because it is the job of ZACC.
President Emmerson Mnangagwa announced that he is appointing a special committee to investigate the allegations brought by the youths.
The youths fingered ZANU PF Secretary for Administration Obert Mpofu, John Panonetsa Mangudya,Jacob Mudenda among others as corrupt individuals in government and the party.
Matanda-Moyo added that since coming into office, 38 corruption cases have been reported, 10 of which are high profile. "We have faced resistance during investigations. We will prefer obstruction charges now" she said.
Recently Professor Jonathan Moyo says the ZANU PF Youth Leaders were sent by President Emmerson Mnangagwa's son Emmerson Jr to do a press conference that alleged Senior Party and Government officials are involved in corrupt activities.
"It is now known that the ZANU PF youth are being fronted and managed by Emmerson Mnangagwa jr, who met with the youths before their bombshell presser last week and who is the source of the information they say they have." Moyo said.
Moyo added that the plot by Mnangagwa was to deal with his political enemies.
"The son triggers the allegations and the father reciprocates by setting up a self-serving commission of inquiry to purge perceived internal critics, under the guise of fighting corruption. Down with nepotism!"
