A faction of the Zimbabwe Liberation war Veterans Association has passed a vote of no confidence on Chairman Jabulani Sibanda for blasting the invasion of Njelele sacred shrine by some rogue former freedom fighters.

The faction has since written a letter advising of their stance to top Zanu-PF officials including provincial governors and signed by ZLWA chief information secretary George Kativhu.

"On 3 May the cleansing group was to hold a Ndongamabwe or memorial service for the spirits of the deceased war veterans now put to rest at the Matopo where he was also invited. He instead had a meeting prior to our arrival with the likes of Dumiso Dabengwa, chiefs Masuku, Mathema and Khumalo. He did not get details but called us renegade," reads part of the letter.

However, a defiant Sibanda said, "I received the letter and had no time to read a letter coming from nonsensical people most of whom are not war veterans and pretend to be war veterans. They want to go with their Inyangas there to cleanse their evil spirits at a sacred shrine," said Sibanda.
