A married woman was thoroughly bashed after she was found consulting a traditional healer to lure a married man in Kuwadza Extension on Saturday.

Barbra Mugweni (38) was tracked in the wee hours of the morning from Marondera where she stays. She was being accompanied by a woman identified as Bridget on the visit to a sangoma based in Kuwadzana Extension. Barbra was bashed by Charity Walusa, who also lives in Marondera, following a tip-off that Barbra had visited a traditional healer to lure Charity's husband Robert Runoziva (35) who happens to be her workmate.

Robert is an ambulance driver and Barbra is a general hand at Marondera Hospital. Barbra's husband thought she had gone to work only to be called that his wife had been caught in Harare seeking love potions to lure another man!

Charity waited for Barbra to leave the traditional healer before she bashed her. Barbra confirmed that she had visited the traditional healer for love potions following a scuffle with Charity over Robert. Charity said Barbra is after her life after she discovered that her husband was cheating with his workmate.

"Barbra is after after my life after I confronted her over my husband and I was tipped that she is visiting here to get charms to kill me and also lure Robert so that he becomes hers and hers alone. I woke up much earlier and looked for the sangoma's address and warned her about Barbra. She asked me to stay in one of her rooms so that I could follow the proceedings when Barbra arrives. I feared for my life so I wanted to avoid her getting first to the traditional healer. Barbra used charms to lure my husband. She is too old for him and I wonder why she is cheating on her husband," said Charity.

Charity added: "She challenged me by visiting my husband at my house unaware that I was present and I confronted her. After that I took her to her husband and revealed all the messages she was sending to my husband. One of my relatives overheard her planning to visit a traditional healer to kill me and lure Robert before she revealed where the sangoma was found and I tracked them."

Barbra revealed that she cheated with Robert to quench stress that was being caused by her own husband Gift who is also cheating on her with another woman. Interestingly she didn't seek herbs and potions to keep her own man BUT decided on looking for herbs to get another man instead.

"Robert is my workmate and I was aware that he is married to Charity. My husband was cheating on me with another woman so I wanted to avoid stress from that challenge. We went out for a year with Robert before Charity discovered it and we had a heated argument over the affair. Charity revealed this to Gift and we have no peace from that time and I came here to seek help from this sangoma. We are no longer lovers with Robert after Charity discovered it and Robert is the one who is sending text messages to me, which I'm not replying," claimed Barbra.

Asked on why Robert keeps sending messages, Barbra had this to say: "I don't know, Probably Charity is failing to satisfy him sexually. Beating me does not discourage me from seeking help for Charity has caused suffering in my life."

The sangoma who refused to identify herself, said her charms do not work when it comes to destroying marriages.

"My charms will not work with people who are after destroying other people's marriages. If someone forces me to get such charms she will be discouraged for it will work the opposite way. The spirit that possess me does not allow violence and I had to counsel the two to avoid fighting here," she said.

Robert could not confirm nor deny that he was cheating with Barbra but said: "I heard that my wife caught Barbra in Kuwadza Extension and I have no comment over that story."

Gift confirmed receiving a report about Barbra being caught seeking help from a traditional healer.

"She left the house as usual and I was surprised to hear that she was caught in Kuwadza pan'anga," said Gift.
