President Emmerson Mnangagwa has been accused of applying his predecessor Robert Mugabe tactics of having members of his government arrested when he is out of the country.
This follows the arrest of Tourism Minister Prisca Mupfumira on Thursday by the Zimbabwe Anti Corruption Commission while Mnangagwa was away in Namibia on a State visit.
Mupfumira appeared in court on Friday facing seven counts of criminal abuse of office and corruption involving Nassa when she was Public Service Minister.
Nicknamed Machiavelli during his time, Mugabe would first leave the country for the police to swoop on either members of his government or Zanu-PF party.
Respected human rights lawyer Dr Pedzisai Ruhanya observed: "So Mnangagwa is using Mugabe tactic of instructing arrests of people when he is out of the country. ED is observing the arrest of Tourism Minister Mupfumira from Namibia. How is this a new dispensation?"
Dr Ruhanya also questioned why Public Service Minister Sekai Nzenza was refusing to table the NSSA report before Parliament.
"ZACC has already proceeded to arrest the former Minister. What is she hiding and who is she protecting? Who are the other big fishes implicated?" he said.
