MDC Youth Assembly leader Tererayi Obey Sithole has announced that the party's yoputh league is moving in to occupy the streets to protest against the increasing price of fuel .
On Saturday ZERA announced that the price of diesel will now be $9.06 while petrol will be $9.01.
Said Sithole, "By increasing FUEL prices twice in a week, the government has further FUELED the people's anger. Without any doubt, without any fear, we will occupy the streets as our homes. The wave of CHANGE is unstoppable. ZANU-PF must and shall Go!!!"
Sithole's statements comes at a time when MDC has been conducting prayer and fasting sessions in a bid to see whether the people of Zimbabwe are in a mood to engage in a mass uprising against the government of President Emmerson Mnangagwa through a fresh wave of demonstrations.
While Sithole's statements were received with joy other social media users said the MDC was using a wrong method in seeking popularity.
"That is the reason you will continue lose. Occupy the streets fixing roads, fixing broken water pipes, fixing sewerage systems, drainage is a concern come rain season. Those are the issues that will earn you credibility. Keep jecha poltiks and you will regret losing after losing." One social media user said.
