The Zimbabwe senior women's soccer team, the Mighty Warriors, are through to the COSAFA Women's Championship semi-finals after hammering Eswatini 7-0 at Wolfson Stadium today.

The Mighty Warriors turned on the power to progress to the last four of the tournament in Port Elizabeth South Africa.

Zimbabwe was quick off the blocks, taking the lead as early as the 3rd minute when midfielder Emmaculate Msipa struck in the bottom right hand corner after controlling the ball inside the box.

Msipa doubled the lead 5 minutes later with a well taken header which handed Zimbabwe a 2-0 lead.

Rudo Neshamba then thrust the Mighty Warriors into the driving seat after calmly chesting the ball before firing across Zimbabwe's fourth goal of the afternoon.

Mavis Chirandu weighed in with a goal after heading in Zimbabwe's fourth before Msipa grabbed a hat trick 3 minutes from half time.

Despite some measure of resistance after the half time break, Chirandu scored her second of the afternoon in the 64th minute to thrust Zimbabwe into a 6-0 lead before Msipa capped off an astonishing afternoon by finishing off a pinpoint pass provided by Neshamba.

Zimbabwe will play hosts South Africa in the semi-finals in what will be a titanic clash between two powerful sides in the Southern African region.
