Port Elizabeth's Gelvandale and Wolfson stadiums were filled with enticements from dusk till dawn as Zimbabwe's senior and U20 women's teams mauled their contenders to the point of no return.
It started with Rosemary Mugadza's U20 side which buried Namibia by 4 goals to nil at the Gelvandale stadium this morning.
The resounding victory saw the U20 side qualifying for the semifinals of the inaugural Confederation Of Southern African Football (Cosafa) women's U20 tournament.
Later on in the afternoon, Zim's senior team the Mighty Warriors, wasted no time in solidifying what had been started by the U20s in the morning.
The Mighty Warriors thumped Eswatini by seven goals to nil which saw them securing a spot in the semis of the Cosafa tourney in style.
Both the senior and U20 teams will have to wait for the outcome of tomorrow's group B encounters respectively, to see which teams they will be playing against in the semifinals.
The semis will take place at the Gelvandale and Wolfson stadiums respectively on Thursday. Coaches Rosemary Mugadza and Sithethelelwe Sibanda were very much impressed with the results, "It was a good result for us and we now await to see which team(s) we will play in the semifinals."
